Raw Notes

  • given to me by G.K.
  • From 2023, aged 1 additional year
  • Took a sip of Coke Zero
  • Ate a small piece of milk chocolate
  • Wrapper smell is subtle, some chocolate and dried fruit. Smelling the end gives subtle notes of apple
  • Cold draw repeats that dried fruit odor, notes of apple and melons
  • Additional cold draw gives some sweetness, like honey melon
  • About five minutes into this smoke and it is smooth and mild so far, no prominent flavors have sparked yet
  • Retrohale has notes of cedar
  • The cigar is stiff yet soft when slightly pressed
  • The pull is smooth, but has just the right amount of resistance to produce a medium size cloud of smoke
  • eight minutes in, and I have an even burn line
  • Construction seems excellent
  • light, baking spices on the tip of my tongue,
  • 10 minutes in, and I'm starting to get some lightness towards the front of my tongue, almost cool, ice-like … a fresh surprise
  • There is a bit of richness that is starting to kick in
  • it's almost like there's an icy hot on the front edges of my tongue, lifting the leather palette to a higher note
  • I'm 14 minutes in
  • 25 minutes and the taste hasn't really changed, the fresh lights uplifting flavor that I was experiencing, seems to have vanished
  • ate a piece of milk chocolate
  • I think that lightened uplifting favor can be described as mint
  • 30 minutes in and I'm reminded of a campfire
  • Took some sips of my Arnold Palmer alcoholic drink
  • 32 minutes in and I have begun to transition into the second third
  • the leather appears to be transforming into some sort of roasted coffee
  • The lemonade in my drink definitely produces some floral notes
  • was trying to stack the ass and it finally fell at the 37 minute mark, as I was trying to take off the binder
  • took another bite of milk chocolate
  • I'm 52 minutes under this nearing the end of the second third and the profile is rich and deep with notes of leather
  • Gonna go back to my comment about the campfire, this is a cozy cigar
  • The cigar has had an even burn line most of the way through with very minimal touchups
  • excellent construction
  • took a sip of my Arnold Palmer drink at the 53 minute mark, and then took a pull of the cigar … there was a little bit of saltine us, and warmth reminiscent of peanuts
  • as I begin to transition into the final third I am starting to get some pepper on my lips
  • tried another retrohale and I will not be doing that again, was too strong and burned my nostrils.
  • nearly a nub at 1 hour and 20 minutes, roasted and smooth, rich profile
